Disappearing insects - Sign of 4th world?

Post your stories of disappearing insects here, have you seen a lot of missing fireflies? If you could mention what state/country you are in as well it would be helpful.

Some Native American tribes say that when the insects start to vanish we enter into the 4th world/the 4th world appears. What does that mean, can anyone elaborate?

I had this saved somewhere in the fabric of the multi-verse.

"The question is not "Where are the insects?" but rather "Are they disappearing?" In New England where I have lived for 50 years, the answer is yes. Car windshields and grills are clean most of the summer. We used to have to vacuum moths and other insects from between the screens of our house windows.

Not now. Porch lights used to be surrounded by many varieties of interesting moths and we would love to look at the window screens and door screens to see these beautiful creatures. The hundreds of butterflies that used to fly like winged flowers in the meadows during my childhood are gone. Bird species are fast diminishing as well.

Last year I spoke to a young man who had driven coast to coast without having serious bug juice on his windshield. I have walked around parking lots inspecting cars (do this yourself) throughout the northeast and I see the same thing: Clean windshields, clean grills. This is very troubling.

Here in Dallas, TX my fruit trees and flowering shrubs are blooming, but there are no pollinators yet. There are no insects at all, that I have seen outside for several days, that I can remember. I am not sure if there is some poisoning here in Frisco, north of Dallas, or if there has just been a die back from the last warm spell hatching of insects, and the pollinators haven't come out yet for the spring."

Great white sharks prefer AC/DC

Pretty awesome.

A cage-diving operator in South Australia has discovered that great white sharks in that region are fans of rock-and-roll music -- specifically that produced by the legendary Australian band AC/DC.

Matt Waller of Adventure Bay Charters began experimenting with music played through underwater speakers, as other cage-diving operators in other regions have, as a means of luring sharks to divers in cages without using chummed fish parts, which is increasingly controversial.

Sharks are sensitive to vibrations and have long been known to be able to hone in on the source of the noise from great distances. (Pacific Islanders used to rub coconuts together underwater to attract certain species of sharks.)

The Ion Drive - Get to Mars within 5 hours. Is this the future of space propulsion?

What do you know about these?

Basically, take an atom and zap it to remove it's electron. Then the atom has a positive charge. Use a positive electric field to fire the atom out the back (positive charges repel each other). Since it is a little atom, you can fire it at a VERY VERY high speed.

It is like propelling your car by shooting BBs out the back. Basically, it takes a long time to get up to speed, but it much more efficient since you can shoot those BBs out at close to light speed. For the same mass of propellant, you end up going a lot further and faster(EVENTUALLY!).

Think of it this way. If you have 100 pounds of propellant and shoot it all out the back at 50,000 mph and have used it up in a few minutes (like a rocket) vs. taking that 100 pounds and shooting it out at the speed of light (though it takes you a month to shoot it all out) then you've imparted a lot more thrust overall at the end of a month.

If you wanted to go faster at the start, you need a whole mess of BB shooters going all at once. So in order to get to Mars fast, you need to design something that can shoot out more than 1 BB at a time. If you could, for example, take that 100 lbs and shoot it all out the back at the speed of light in a few minutes, you'll be really haulin'.

Current ION thrusters only shoot a few atoms out at a time, so they have been used on long missions that are weight constrained and so can't carry lots of fuel. NASA's Deep Space 1 probe (launched in 1998) was the first to test out using one.

NASA's DAWN probe that is about to reach the asteroid Vesta also uses ION engines.

So, the hope is that now that ion engines have been proven, that they can make much bigger ones (or hundreds/thousands of them) on a ship. We have a long way to go still, so some ideas are to use ion engines for delivering cargo/supplies and old fashioned rockets for people."

Apparently, according to the scientists on the show, they said 39 days so more like 6 weeks.

It assumes an ion drive has a nuclear power plant on board for all the power needed.

The ion engine design is assumed to be the VASIMR drive, which uses superconducting magnets to generate powerful magnetic fields to accelerate the ions. Someone mentioned this VASIMR drive earlier in the thread:

Seismologists tried for manslaughter of 300 people for not predicting earthquake.

 PA is trying to get their act together it seems. With Florida recently getting the bills in motion, and Oakland, CA actually taxing it... slowly but surely winning the fight for Marijuana legalization countrywide.

Billy Meier stated in 1998 that HAARP "Greater risk than atom bomb"

Billy Meier delivered a stern warning in his 1998 FIGU Bulletin (No 13) concerning the controversial HAARP facility operated by the United States Air Force and Navy.

Meier states that the very name of this American project camouflages the fact that it ‘has the potential for being a greater catastrophe for mankind than the creation of the atomic bomb’.

Billy states that his warning concerning this technology, directly relates to warnings issued by an advanced alien civilization called the Plejaran.

Meier also claims that the energy-rays directed into the ionosphere by HAARP will then be reflected back to Earth as electric waves of an extremely low frequency (ELF). This process is capable of transforming these ELF waves into an ‘insidious weapon’.

The Plejaran have warned that the ELF vibrations can penetrate the brains of people and animals when aimed in their direction. They state that this will both immobilize and prevent the affected individual/animal from any form of movement or act of defence and will also render them insane.

Meier was taught by the Plejaran visitors that above the earth’s ozone layer is the fragile ionosphere; as a gaseous stratum enriched with electric particles called ions. They explained that Scientists intend to heat up this ionosphere by using HAARP’s powerful antennas so that bundled, high-frequency radio waves can be shot into designated regions of the ionosphere. He advises that this process will result in artificially-curved ion clouds that function like an optical lense that will be used to reflect the low frequency ELF waves.

The Plejarans insist there is a direct link between HAARP and the environmental pollution and destruction, and global warming. Even though the HAARP tests are still at a low level, the program is already triggering floods, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and stormy weather conditions.

Survival Time: Raising nutritious and edible bugs

When you really need to go to last resort scenarios and TSHTF why not raise your own Crickets & Mealworms???

Before you are repulsed by this, check out the facts on cricket nutrition:

100 grams of cricket contains - 121 calories, 12.9 grams of protein, 5.5 g. of fat, 5.1 g. of carbohydrates, 75.8 mg. calcium, 185.3 mg. of phosphorous, 9.5 mg. of iron, 0.36 mg. of thiamin, 1.09 mg. of riboflavin, and 3.10 mg. of niacin. Au natural.

Compare this with ground beef, which, although it contains more protein (23.5 g.), also has 288.2 calories AND 21 grams of fat!

Raising Crickets:
Crickets are easy to raise and prepare, it's hard to keep them from escaping. Crickets can be kept in a large container with high sides and a tight lid. Aquariums work well. Put a couple inches of potting soil on the bottom of the container.

This crickets deposit their eggs in the soil. Put several egg cartons in the aquarium for the crickets to roost on. Then, place a small container of grains and vegetable scraps in for food, and a container of moist cotton balls for water. Add 50-100 crickets. Mist the potting soil lightly every few days, and make sure that the crickets always have fresh food. You can probably start harvesting the crickets within a few months.

Raising Mealworms:
Take a flat plastic tub with a lid, fill it with an inch or so of oats or other grain, put in a slice of potato, carrot or other hard vegetable as a source of water, and then deposit your mealworms!

Make sure to replace the slice of potato fairly frequently, otherwise you will be growing mold instead of mealworms.

The mealworms you get at the store are in their larval stage, and it may be a few months before they mature into beetles, so be patient. 100 mealworm larvae is a good colony start if you are not going to be eating them very often.

Preparation of crickets or mealworms:
Take what you want, rinse them and dry em. For crickets, pour them all into a colander and cover it quickly with a piece of screening. Then put the crickets or mealworms in a plastic bag and put them in the freezer until they are dead but not frozen. 20 mins or so. Take them out and re-rinse them again. You are now ready to use the insects in all kinds of culinary treats!

To make insect flour:
Spread your cleaned insects out on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Set your oven 200 degrees and dry insects for approximately 2-3 hours. When the insects are done, they are brittle and crush easily. Take your dried insects and grind them till they are about consistency of wheat germ. Use in practically any recipe!

Mealworm Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup mealworm flour

Cream butter well, then mix in sugar, egg, vanilla flour, salt, baking soda, chocolate chips, oats, and mealworm flour. Drop batter by the teaspoonful on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees farenheit.

Chocolate Covered Crickets
25 adult crickets
Several squares of semisweet chocolate

Prepare the crickets as described above. Bake at 250 degrees until crunchy. Heat the squares of semi sweet chocolate in a double boiler until melted. Dip the dry roasted crickets in the melted chocolate one by one, and then set the chocolate covered crickets out to dry on a piece of wax paper. Enjoy!

This looks almost EXACTLY like what I saw around November of 1991. I lived in a very wooded area with a few acres at the time, lived in SE Pennsylvania, outside Philadelphia. a It was around 4:00 PM, and I was walking my dog. We usually walked these "trails" through the woods, which seemed to have been overgrown and abandoned at least 20-30 years prior...very rusted auto car parts, random junk for some reason strewn back there. Another odd thing was a huge like crater-"dump" at the end of the cul-de-sac. It had a ton of rusted metal parts and bricks inside it.

So we go through these trails and over this one hill/long field and I look up. As clear as day it was a Black Triangle V shaped boomerang UFO. It was close enough that if I picked up I brick I could have possibly hit it in the air if I threw hard enough. I just stood there and stared at it, I looked over at my dog, and she was just sitting looking at it too. So I knew it was there! I could see 3 faint lights, or points. Just like in that video. They of course were not as luminous because it was still partially daylight but they were visible.

It basically looked like to me a "hovering jack-knifed stealth bomber". It seemed to even have glossed over "gunmetal-black" windows/slits that were heavily tinted/armored and I could not see inside. After what seemed like a couple mins looking at it I ran inside to yell to my parents. I was freaking out! I got the phone book and tried to look up the number to the Air Force to report it, which seems pretty funny now.

My father who is 40+ years military calmed me down, told me that it was probably a kite or something. A KITE! Well, he didn't want me to call the police or anything, which I apparently was insistent on doing. So I dropped it and just told a couple of my close friends at school. My mom always believed me though which was cool!

Fast forward to 1997: Same location as described, inside house.

Scenario: It is about 9:00PM, my friend Alison is over my house and we are going out to a club. My mom is walking the dog outside and starts SCREAMING my name. I mean yelling it in this scared, creepy way that really had me going.



So we run outside, and literally 3 orb type crafts were CIRCLING the house. My dog was barking and my friend actually had one of those disposable old school flash kodak cameras. She tried to take a few pics but of course they didn't come out. They made ABSOLUTELY NO NOISE.

I remember also telling my Aunt (Dads sister) these stories and she told me about how in NY a huge light followed her, my dad when he was a kid, and her friend around the mountains of Wappingers Falls, NY making again the classic NO NOISE.

They say encounters with ET/UFO/Strange Phenomenon is carried through family bloodlines. I believe it is true.

DARPA’s Cheetah-Bot Designed to Chase Human Prey!

Perhaps you thought the four-legged BigDog robot wasn’t eerily lifelike enough. That’ll change soon. BigDog’s makers are working on a new quadruped that moves faster than any human and is agile enough to “chase and evade.”

Boston Dynamics, maker of the Army’s BigDog robotic mule, announced today that Darpa has awarded it a contract to build a much faster and more fearsome animal-like robot, Cheetah.

As the name implies, Cheetah is designed to be a four-legged robot with a flexible spine and articulated head (and potentially a tail) that runs faster than the fastest human. In addition to raw speed, Cheetah’s makers promise that it will have the agility to make tight turns so that it can “zigzag to chase and evade” and be able to stop on a dime.


Cheetah builds off work on the company’s previous four legged animal bot, BigDog.  It was built as a kind of unmanned pack mule, designed to carry equipment for troops on the battlefield. The robotic donkey could carry 300 lbs. over 13 miles on flat ground, take a swift kick and keep on moving. It’s creepy, lifelike movement can be seen on a number of videos online, climbing over hills and snow and hiking alongside soldiers, using GPS coordinates as its waypoints.

Aside from its unspecified military applications, Cheetah’s makers see it galloping to the rescue and building a brave new future in the fields of “emergency response, firefighting, advanced agriculture and vehicular travel.”
Think that’s creepy? Wait till you see its humanoid, Terminator look-alike buddy.

Meet Atlas, Cheetah’s humanoid pal. Atlas is supposed to look more or less like the T-800 series of Terminators, minus the head. Its designers say it’ll be able to walk like a human over rough terrain, crawling on its hands and knees when necessary and turning itself sideways to slip through any narrow passages it encounters. Headless, with a torso and two arms, it’s a step up from Boston Dynamics’ other biped, the lower-body-bot Petman.

Petman was built to test out chemical weapons protective suits for the Army by “walking, crawling and doing a variety of suit-stressing calisthenics” and “simulat[ing] human physiology.” Designers made it capable of walking heel-to-toe at 3.2 miles per hour and staying upright even after it gets pushed.
As the new models go into development, let’s hope Cheetah never develops a taste for human flesh and that Atlas doesn’t have any hard feelings about its predecessor being a poison-gas guinea pig for the Army.

Real ET/Alien activity onboard the ISS?

I really don't know what it could be, but this is pretty strange. This Nasa video below shows some unusual and unexplained activity on the external part of the ISS. What is the humanoid shape on the ISS surface? What is that "pulsating ring" that emerges and flies away?

Weird isn't it?

The pulsating ring is supposed to be (according to Nasa) a washer (as in nut's, bolts and washers) that came 'loose' and float off.

However, this isn't correct, as obviously it is *not* tumbling over edge to edge, yet it is pulsating. Afaik, washers to not spontaneously pulsate, that only would happen if it was tumbling over and over, reflecting the sunlight as it did so...this isn't tumbling.

But the meat and potatoes of the video, has me baffled:

What the hell is that morphing shaped..thing.

Then i thought, could it be some kind of shielding foil like material, that had come loose?
But if it had been, the commentator would probably have mentioned that a portion of the shield was damaged..but nothing of the sort was said.

Who knows. It's certainly a weird looking thing, but curiously none of the personnel seemed even slightly bothered or phased about the object, so it could be something that is meant to be there, or else they were being good at keeping their mouths shut about it!

Another thing that struck me about this video, was the sheer amount of light anomalies present...they are everywhere. This will be argued as being 'cosmic rays' striking the CCD or the film of the camera and causing these light effects...that's all very well, until we remember that more than one of the early astronauts have said that upon looking out of the windows, they saw swarming 'fireflies' all over, and that they looked like 'living critters'...
Any theories to explain these anomalies?

Mysterious giant footprints on "Dragon Head's" cliff in Shaanxi Province, China spark debate.

 

Local residents of Shenmu County in China's Shaanxi Province consider a mountain cliff named "Dragon Head" to be a mysterious forbidden place due to some huge footprints of unknown origin. They believe those footprints are the traces of their ancestors or even some gods from Heaven.

Along with the addition of various fictional details, the story of those footprints began spreading to others, and finally caught the attention of reporters, archaeologists and other experts. After careful investigation, they eventually were able to unlock the true story.

Local legends surrounding the footprints started back in 1967, when a man surnamed Qiao went to quarry some stones around his village. When he raised a piece of stone on a cliff, he found a pit in the shape of footprint. Then, he called his neighbors to clean all the stones on the cliff, and they found a line of footprints heading to the edge of the cliff. The scene totally shocked Qiao and his neighbors, and the stories of those special footprints started spreading after that.

Each of the footprints is about 40-centimeter-long, which is much longer than normal people's feet. And if those footprints belonged to a human, then they would be as tall as three meters according to the normal ratio of height and length of feet.

Then who left those footprints anyway? And have any similar situations happened before?

Various theories emerge:

Bigfoot monsters?

Since some footprints that may be linked to a Bigfoot-like monster of legend were found in the Shennongjia region in China's Hubei Province, investigators thought these footprints might have been made by something similar.

However, after checking books, investigators found the biggest footprint found in Shennongjia region is just about 30 centimeters, which is much smaller than these. Clearly, the footprints in the two different places do not belong to the same kind of creature.

Considering the footprints are embedded in the stone, they must be ancient.

Harlem Hellfighters - 1st African American Regiment during WW1

Over the weekend my dad was talking to me about the first African American regiment to ever be deployed in WW1, The Harlem Hellfighters. aka The Black Rattlers.

They were known to be totally fearless in battle, while instilling fear in their German opponents. Literally they had guys crying all the way back to their mommas for some Lebkuchen. Unfortunately, since racism was still very prevalent back in the US then they ended up fighting a lot with the French units. After being detached and seconded to the French, they wore the Adrian helmet, while retaining the rest of their American uniform.

One Medal of Honor and many Distinguished Service Crosses were awarded to members of the regiment. Considering only 6,185 Distinguished Service Crosses were awarded at that time that is pretty amazing. Also from what I understand it of course took the veterans (mainly their families) a long time for them to even get recognition.

A noteworthy soldier was Pvt. Henry Lincoln Johnson, who earned the nickname "Black Death" for his actions in combat in France. In May 1918 Johnson and Pvt. Needham Roberts fought off a 24-man German patrol from their position. After they depleted their ammo, Roberts resorted to his rifle as a club and Johnson battled with a bolo knife! The French government awarded these two and their regiment the Croix de Guerre with silver star for the taking of Séchault. By the end of the war, 171 members of the 369th were awarded the Legion of Honor.

A little known fact is that one soldier from the 369th division, James Reese Europe became famous throughout Europe, being the first to introduce the until-then unknown music called jazz to British, French and other audiences, and starting a worldwide demand for it!

Pretty interesting tidbit of history to learn about, he was discussing this to me after watching the WW1 tanks specials on The History Channel, which is a must see as well!

The conclusion McKenna comes to when you research his Timewave Zero theory of why we reach that endpoint or singularity in time is that man invents time travel, thus making time irrelevant in the dimensional term we think of now. Which really blew my mind considering he came up with this theory over 15+ years ago. Then we have Cern LHC announcing last week they may use that atom-smasher for time-travel experimentation!
